Why magenta, why a lab
Magenta is not a wavelength.
There is no magenta in light. The brain invents it to close the gap between red and violet — a colour that exists only because something decided it should.
The proof
Look for it on the spectrum. It is not there.
The visible spectrum runs from violet at 400nm to red at 700nm. Magenta appears nowhere on it. It is what the visual system produces when the red and blue cones fire together and no single wavelength can account for the result.
The transfer
Two halves of the same operation
studio magenta
Creation · artwork
Takes elements that should not belong together, forces them into one piece, and makes something that reads as an illusion rather than a compromise.

Prototype workshop
The work that happens before the illusion: experiments, research, and the validation that decides whether an idea can be built at all.
Operating principles
Nothing is finished until it has failed twice.
-
Questions before revenue
We do not ask whether it will sell first. We ask whether it can be made at all. The commercial question is real, but it is the second question.
-
Failure in public
When something does not work, the reason goes in the log with a date on it. A lab that only publishes its wins is a marketing department.

Built all the way
Not a demo, not a video, not a mockup. A prototype means something a person can actually use, even if only one person ever does.
